Lowell K. Lischer is a consulting geologist out of San Antonio, Texas
He earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the University of Missouri. Upon completion of his education he went to work for Chevron Oil Co., then Marathon Oil Co. and later Moxa Energy Corp. He served as the Chief Geologist for True Oil Co., in Casper Wyoming for 15 years then became Vice President of Exploration for Abraxas Petroleum Corp. in San Antonio.

He earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the University of Missouri. Upon completion of his education he went to work for Chevron Oil Co., then Marathon Oil Co. and later Moxa Energy Corp. Lischer is a registered Wyoming "Professional Geologist" and became a member of the AAPG in 1974. He has served on the House of Delegates for six years and four other years as an alternate. During his service he served on the Ad hoc Committee on International Member Participation, Nominating Committee and chaired the Rules and Procedure Committee for the House.
Active in the all the divisions of AAPG, Lischer is a Certified Petroleum Geologist. He also served on the Committee on Committees for three years and 1998-99 was the vice chairman of that committee.
Other committees Lischer has served on include: Advisory Board 1988-91; vice president and chairman, Advisory Board 1992-93; co-chairman 1991-92 & 1995-96, chairman 1992-95, and vice chairman 1996-99 Governmental Affairs Committee; chairman Headquarters Committee 1996-99; Wellsite Environmental Conference Subcommittee 1990-91; Membership Committee 1994-98.
In 1995 Lischer was given a Distinguished Service Award. He's also remained active in societies on local levels wherever he has lived.
