Keep It Out of the Classroom
The debate of teaching creationism in school should be a non-issue, but unfortunately religious conservatives are pushing their particular interpretation of the Bible on the rest of us.
The strongest argument against creationism in the classroom is a religious argument. The Bible or parts of it are shared amongst Christian and Jewish religions throughout the world. It is considered the inviolate Word of God. It has stood the test of time because it addresses through the ages the fundamental problems of mankind's relationship with God and with each other.

If the Bible were universally interpreted correctly by all, we would have but one giant Christian religion and one Jewish religion. As it is, there are many sects, and divisions among all Christians and Jews. This clearly demonstrates that there is no one interpretation of the Bible that stands unchallenged …
Why, therefore, must all of us be forced to have our children exposed to the limited interpretations of the Bible by a group of literal religious conservatives?
Scientists need to recognize that the fundamentalist belief that the earth is only thousands of years old is a rejection of all science. It means you cannot believe chemistry or physics (dating of rocks must be wrong; physics must be wrong to predict Big Bang).
Our constitution provides for the separation of church and state. Those who want to thrust their interpretation of the Bible on the rest of us trample upon this fundamental right.
As citizens we should keep creationism out of the classroom because it is religious and has no place in a public school. As scientists we should keep creationism out of the classroom because it denies the fundamentals of all science.
