Energy industry companies and geoscience college students are invited to participate in the fifth annual AAPG/SEG Spring Student Expo, set March 10-12 at the Sarkeys Energy Center at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Okla.

The spring event -- modeled after AAPG's successful fall Student Expo at Rice University in Houston -- is designed to bring together geoscience students interested in energy careers and energy industry representatives seeking qualified summer interns and full-time employees.

This year's Expo will again feature formal interviews with energy industry representatives, a poster contest for students (with cash prizes), company exhibits and numerous network opportunities.

Also slated is a March 11 field trip to the Wichita Mountains, plus two mini-courses.

Students who choose to showcase their work in poster format via the Scientific Poster Contest will this year be competing for cash prizes for the top three geology and geophysics posters. Prizes will be $500 (first place), $250 (second place) and $100 (third place).

Abstracts are due by Feb. 20 and should be sent to Donna Mullins at [email protected].

Student and company registration information is available on the AAPG Web site, or by contacting Carol Drayton at [email protected].
