The Middle East dominates the world's energy scene, the world's
politics, the world's media focus — and in Dallas, the Middle East
will again be in the spotlight.
Amy
Myers Jaffe, well-known oil specialist and Wallace Wilson Fellow
for Energy Studies at the James A. Baker III Institute for Public
Policy at Rice University, will discuss the challenges facing OPEC
in the coming years during her address to the All-Convention Luncheon.

The Middle East dominates the world's energy scene, the world's
politics, the world's media focus — and in Dallas, the Middle East
will again be in the spotlight.
Amy
Myers Jaffe, well-known oil specialist and Wallace Wilson Fellow
for Energy Studies at the James A. Baker III Institute for Public
Policy at Rice University, will discuss the challenges facing OPEC
in the coming years during her address to the All-Convention Luncheon.
The luncheon
will begin at 11:30 a.m. Monday, April 19, at the Dallas Convention
Center.
The luncheon
also provides the setting for recognition of Mike Fillipow as AAPG's
Earth Sciences Teacher of the Year.
Jaffe was
principal author of the Baker Institute's first eight energy studies
that covered energy policy and trends in the Middle East, Caspian
Basin, China and Japan, as well as emerging technologies in the
nuclear and natural gas sectors.
The All-Convention
kicks off the annual meeting's slate of division luncheons, all
of which will be held at the Dallas Convention Center.
