In the "electronic AAPG election watch," 6,006 already had cast their votes by the end of March. That's a little over 34 percent of AAPG's Active members.

Votes that were received through the online ballot system came to 1,859, which is 31 percent of the total amount cast (10.5 percent of voting membership).

Last year their were 4,842 ballots returned — 27 percent participation of the voting membership. In 2002, 5,617 ballots were cast, which was 30.7 percent of eligible voters.

May 15 is the final day you can vote for the 2004-05 officers. If you are one of the 66 percent of the Active members who have yet to exercise this member privilege, please log on to the AAPG home page (www.aapg.org) and click the blue ballot box.
