An exhibits hall that is shaping up to be among the largest in AAPG meeting history promises to be a highlight of this year's annual meeting in Houston, with nearly 1,000 booth spaces reserved to display the latest in technology and information services.

The exhibition, which will officially open at 5 p.m. Sunday, March 10, with the traditional Icebreaker reception, will be located in exhibits halls A, B and C of the George R. Brown Convention Center.

An exhibits hall that is shaping up to be among the largest in AAPG meeting history promises to be a highlight of this year's annual meeting in Houston, with nearly 1,000 booth spaces reserved to display the latest in technology and information services.

The exhibition, which will officially open at 5 p.m. Sunday, March 10, with the traditional Icebreaker reception, will be located in exhibits halls A, B and C of the George R. Brown Convention Center.

A "mini" Icebreaker will be held from 4:30-6 p.m. Tuesday, March 12.

In addition to the hundreds of commercial and non-profit displays, exhibit hall visitors also will find:

The Career Center, which serves as the focus for employment opportunities at the convention.

At the Center you'll find job openings, information on prospective employers, job interview schedules and posted resumés.

And convention-goers can bring their own resumés to the booth — preferably digitally — and they will be posted on the AAPG Web site.

At the Center you can also learn how to use the Internet to research different career possibilities.

  • The poster sessions, including the computer-projection based Interactive E-Poster Sessions.
  • The International Pavilion, where more than 30 countries will have booths showing information about exploration opportunities around the world.
  • The AAPG Center, where you can visit the Bookstore or staff members representing all services.
  • The Virtual Cafe, where you can surf the Web, check and respond to your e-mail, view the online version of the International Pavilion and follow links to exhibitors' Web sites.
  • The Sidewalk Cafe, where you can enjoy a meal or snacks.

The exhibit hall hours are:

  • Sunday, 5-8 p.m.
  • Monday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Wednesday, 8:30 a.m. to noon.
