The answer is in a new forum concept organized by AAPG and the Institute of Petroleum, which together have created an innovative approach to analyze the next five years of the "upstream" business.

A one-day session on February 20 during the Institute of Petroleum's IP Week and AAPG's APPEX London event will combine IHS Energy's "Perspectives Forum" and executive managers from global oil companies in a region-by-region look forward.

Each session will be a moderated forum of IHS experts giving their regional assessment of the primary business drivers for the next five years, coupled with the experience of a senior manager talking about the view from an operator.

With an extended question and answer period, including audience participation, the forum will be a unique opportunity to gather critical information that directly impacts the upstream business.

The program is divided into six sessions covering global, Western Europe, Russian, Caspian, Middle Eastern and African perspectives.

Confirmed speakers include:

  • John Gibson, CEO, Halliburton Energy (keynote address).
  • Jean Marie Massat, vice president, TotalFinaElf.
  • Ray Leonard, vice president, Yukos.
  • David K. Woodward, president, BP Azerbaijan.
  • Alan Grant, executive director, OGP.
  • Pete Stark, vice president-IHS industry relations.
  • Terry Hallmark, IHS business & political risk manager.
  • Regional IHS editors John Balch, Teddy Felder and Vincent Noual.

Admission to the forum includes entrance to AAPG's APPEX London 2003, the association's second annual prospect and property showcase in London. With a larger space and more participating companies this year, APPEX London has become the single property showcase in London.

All events are held at One Great George Street in downtown London. For more information see https://appex.aapg.org/ or www.ipweek.co.uk.
