AAPG Women’s Network Accepting 2022-24 Officer Nominations

I have had the privilege of serving as one of the AAPG Women’s Network co-chairs since 2020 and it has been a pleasure to watch the network grow over these last two years. In that time, our membership has grown from fewer than 100 to nearly 800 members. This growth can be attributed to the numerous opportunities our team has developed for the AAPG community, including technical training, career development, mentoring, networking and much more.

Through these initiatives, we have worked to ensure that numerous women geoscientists are recognized for their contributions to the geosciences and to AAPG. We have also provided a platform for them to increase their visibility and share their technical expertise, advice and stories. None of this would have been possible without our dedicated AAPGWN Leadership Team and volunteers who have cumulatively volunteered thousands of hours of their time to create these opportunities for the broader AAPG community.

I can’t thank them enough for their service and the energy and passion that they have brought to AAPGWN.

If you are interested in joining this exceptional leadership team, we invite you to submit a nomination by May 1. AAPGWN officers are elected by the AAPGWN membership and serve a two-year term. You do not need to identify as a woman to run for an AAPGWN officer position. Nominations can be self-nominations or for others who inspire you and you think would be a good fit for our team.
