We’re excited to share that at the end of the month, you’ll experience a reorganized and redesigned AAPG.org. The new site puts our members first: making it much easier to find the information you need, stay up to date on the latest industry news and events, and connect with your geoscience-loving peers.
Member engagement and participation are the heartbeat of AAPG, and the reimagined AAPG.org is just the beginning of what will soon elevate your member experience and connection with the AAPG community. When the new site launches, active members will have access to a new and improved member portal. The portal is where we have placed information that is relevant, timely and important for select groups but not applicable to prospective members or other site visitors. This is personalized to you and your involvement with AAPG. Post-launch, the team has additional plans to refine the member portal experience, so you get a clear view of all the ways to get plugged in and see the member benefits relevant to you.

All web pages have been updated with current and consolidated information meant to appeal to both long-standing and prospective members. Our website is AAPG’s first impression for many: While the experience of our longtime members is important, the site also needs to serve and appeal to those who might have never interacted with AAPG before. To that end, the navigation bar will be simpler, and pages throughout the site aim to say more with fewer words and links. By streamlining and thoughtfully sharing our resources and communicating our messaging, we hope to attract even more qualified geoscientists to join our AAPG member community.
The site also runs on updated and more secure code that has been built to safely protect your personal information and data from cybersecurity threats.
We anticipate the new AAPG.org will go live on or around July 31, and we will notify members via email when it’s up and running. The new site will add so much functionality to the larger AAPG community, and we look forward to seeing its positive effects.
