important deadline is coming up for those who want to participate
as technical paper or poster presenters at the 2005 AAPG Convention.
Abstract
proposals for the meeting are due at AAPG headquarters by Nov. 12.
"Global
Roundup — Exploring Energy Systems" is the theme for the next AAPG
convention, and organizers are ready to receive your abstracts,
either via online or e-mail.
The meeting
will be held June 19-22 in Calgary, the first time AAPG has returned
to Canada for a convention since 1992.
Organizers
are planning on 50 oral and 60 poster sessions, for a total of about
1,000 technical presentations built around 11 themes.
Those themes
are:

of Mature Basins.
- Exploration
in Continental Margin Settings and Frontier Basins.
- Holistic
Analysis of Petroleum Systems.
- Tectonic
Systems and Basin Evolution.
- Depositional
Systems in Time and Space.
- Mudrocks
and Hydrocarbons.
- Unconventional
Resources and Innovative Technologies.
- Optimizing
Reservoirs.
- Business
and Economic Issues.
- Hydrocarbons,
Environment and Society.
- Astrogeology.
